NEMN Design

National Ecosystems Monitoring Network (NEMN) is operated by Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency

NEMN Design report

Design for the National Ecosystems Monitoring Network was presented at a Workshop on 2-December 2020. View the slides or the recording.

This presentation indicates potential locations of sites as part of NEMN, most of which are protected, and many of which are in private ownership. No site location will become part of the network without landowner approval and other relevant permissions being sought and received. NEMN will not provide for public access to any site.

About NEMN

A National Ecosystems Monitoring Network (NEMN) is being developed in Ireland to monitor and report negative impacts of air pollution on ecosystems (acidification, eutrophication, ozone damage and biodiversity loss) under Articles 9 and 10 of the National Emission reduction Commitments Directive (NECD 2016/2284).
